A 34-year-old Limpopo man drowned
A 34-year-old Limpopo man, Mathew Chauke, drowned while fishing in the Xingwedzi River on Saturday night, 2 May 2026, after attempting to swim across, according to Malamulele police. The incident occurred in Mtititi Altein around 21:15 when he tried to join a companion on the opposite side.
Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution around rivers and dams, especially at night and during the rainy season.
